Bulldogs End Mavericks' Season In Overtime, 3-2

BIG RAPIDS, Mich. – The Ferris State Bulldogs scored just 23 seconds into overtime to beat the UNO hockey team, 3-2 and sweep their best-of-three playoff series, 2-0.  With the loss the Mavericks' season comes to an end at 20-16-6.

Casey Haines scored the game winning goal, taking a feed from Blair Riley and beating #John Faulkner# with a high wrist shot from the slot.

Ferris State took the lead just 3:21 into the game when Blair Riley knocked the puck in for his team-leading 18th goal of the year.  The shot seemed to hit a Maverick defender who was backchecking on the play.

UNO tied the game when #Nick Von Bokern# beat goalie Pat Nagle with a hard wrist shot from the top of the slot.  #Jordan Willert and Dan Swanson# earned assists on the play.

Willert and Swanson teamed up again on a two-on-one rush just 16 seconds later.  Willert took the pass from Swanson and put a shot on goal.  Nagle couldn't control the rebound, and Swanson knocked it in to make it 2-1 after one period.

Ferris State tied the game on a power play in the second period.  Aaron Lewicki got free on a two-on-one and beat Faulkner with a backhander for his 12th goal of the year.

Faulkner finished the game with 28 saves.
