OMAHA, Neb. – Former Omaha hockey junior defenseman Aidan de La Gorgendiere has signed with the Tahoe Knight Monsters of the ECHL, the team announced Thursday, beginning his professional career.

de La Gorgendiere is coming off a strong season with the Mavericks, appearing in 33 games while tallying three goals and 10 assists for 13 points from the blue line.

"We are excited Aidan has the opportunity to turn pro," said head coach Mike Gabinet. "I believe his skill set will transfer very well to the pro level for the rest of this season and beyond."
