This Week: The UNO hockey team concludes its four-game home stand this week as it welcomes the University of Michigan on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 12 and 13. Both games begin at 7:05 p.m. This will be UNO's final regular season home series as a member of the Central Collegiate Hockey Association.
Last Week: The Mavericks earned a tie and a win against the Ohio State Buckeyes in a pair of games at Qwest Center last weekend. On Friday, the Mavs skated to a 5-5 tie before claiming the extra standings point with a 3-2 shootout win in seven rounds. Freshman #

Matt Ambroz# also scored and added three assists. #

The Records: The Mavericks are 14-12-6 this season and 10-11-3-2 in the CCHA, putting them in a fifth-place tie with Alaska. The Wolverines are 17-13-1 overall and 12-9-1-0 in the CCHA, good for fourth place, two points ahead of the Mavs. The Wolverines are coming off a 4-0 win over Bowling Green in a rare Tuesday night contest at Yost Ice Arena.
The Series: The Mavericks trail the all-time series with Michigan, 4-24-3. They are 2-9-3 all-time at home against the Wolverines. Last season, the Mavs lost 8-3 and 4-2 at Ann Arbor, Mich. UNO has lost eight in a row to Michigan.
The Coaches: #
Dean Blais# is in his first year as the head coach of the Mavericks. He brings an impressive resume to Omaha, having led the University of North Dakota to national titles in 1997 and 2000. He won five WCHA regular season titles with UND and two playoff championships. He is a two-time winner of the Spencer Penrose Memorial Award given to Division I hockey's top coach. The native of International Falls, Minn. has a career record of 275-126-37. He coached Team USA to a gold medal in the 2010 IIHF World Junior Championship in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan on January 5, 2010. Blais is assisted by former Omaha Lancer head coach and first-year associate head coach Mike Hastings and third-year assistant coach
Nick Fohr.
Red Berenson is in his 26th season at Michigan's head coach. The 1962 graduate of Michigan and former Wolverine captain is 690-323-69 in his career at Ann Arbor.
