OMAHA, Neb. – The UNO hockey team used two third-period goals to earn a come-from-behind 2-1 win in their season-opening exhibition game against the University of Lethbridge on Monday night at Qwest Center Omaha. #
Nick Von Bokern scored on the powerplay with less than six minutes remaining to deliver the win in the first game for head coach Dean Blais#.
The Mavericks will move into NCAA action on Friday, Oct. 9 when they host Army in the first round of the Mutual of Omaha Icebreaker. Game time is 7:35 p.m.
Von Bokern's goal came on a screened slap shot from the blueline during the Mavericks' fifth powerplay of the game. #

John Kemp# set up the winner when he tied the game on a sharp-angle wrist shot less than five minutes into the third.
Patience was the key for the Mavericks who were facing a Lethbridge team playing its third game in three nights. Defenseman Andrew Marshall scored a first-period powerplay goal to stake the Pronghorns to a 1-0 lead.
The game stayed that way thanks to the goaltending of Lethbridge's Scott Bowles who finished with 34 saves including 16 in the second period.
