OMAHA, Neb. – Omaha Hockey will again partner with Methodist Hospital for its annual Leap-For-A-Cure game on Friday, Feb. 27, when the Mavericks host (RV) Miami (Ohio).
All proceeds raised through in-game donations on Feb. 27, along with the online jersey auction, will benefit Leap-For-A-Cure.
The online auction, featuring Omaha's gray jerseys, opens at 9 a.m. CT on Tuesday, Feb. 24, at OMavs.com/Auctions and closes at 10:30 p.m. CT on Saturday, Feb. 28.
Leap-For-A-Cure was founded in July 2008 by the family of Heather Roberts, who succumbed to her battle with glioblastoma brain cancer in November 2016 at the age of 37. Their mission is to raise awareness of brain cancer, with the goal of providing education and diagnostic treatment options for brain cancer and brain trauma patients and families.
Leap-For-A-Cure's efforts have raised over $1 million to fund equipment, technology, and resources for Methodist patients.
