Latkoczy earns second KJ Branding NCHC Goaltender of the Week honor this season

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. –Omaha Hockey senior goaltender and co-Menke Family Captain Simon Latkoczy (Trenčín, Slovakia) was named the KJ Branding National Collegiate Hockey Conference Goaltender of the Week for the second time this season.

The reigning NCHC Goaltender of the Year previously earned the honor after recording a season-high 49 saves at Ed Robson Arena against then-No. 15 Colorado College on Oct. 31.

Latkoczy, Omaha's nominee for the 2026 Hobey Baker Memorial Award, totaled 57 saves in the Mavericks' weekend series against (RV) Colorado College.

During the series opener Friday, he made 25 saves and a .962 save percentage.

On Saturday night, Latkoczy made his 100th career appearance as a Maverick. He became the fifth active Division I goaltender to reach the milestone, the fourth active to do so at a single institution and just the third active NCHC goaltender with at least 100 games played.

During this milestone appearance, he made 32 saves, recording a 2.07 GAA and a .941 save percentage.

Latkoczy is one win away from earning his 50th career victory at Omaha.

(RV) Omaha Hockey is set to face No. 3 Western Michigan, the defending national champions from Jan. 30-31 in Kalamazoo, Mich., at Lawson Arena. Fans can listen live on 1290 KOIL or the Varsity Network, with both games streaming on NCHC.tv.
