OMAHA, Neb. – (RV) Omaha Hockey's senior goaltender and co-Menke Family Captain
Simon Latkoczy (Trencin, Slovakia) has been named the KJ Branding National Collegiate Hockey Conference Goaltender of the Week honors following a season-high 49 saves at Ed Robson Arena against then-No. 15 Colorado College, the National announced Tuesday.
The reigning NCHC Goaltender of the Year, Latkotczy backstopped Omaha to a 5-4 upset over the Tigers on Friday, Oct. 31, turning aside 49 shots to ensure the Mavericks never trailed.
Latkoczy's effort helped (RV) Omaha capture its first conference win of the season and hand the Tigers their first defeat in four games and second loss of the season.
Latkoczy posted a .961 save percentage in the win.
Through five of six goals this season, he has totaled 172 saves while maintaining a .925 save percentage and 2.83 goals-against average overall.
The honor marks Latkoczy's first weekly nod of the 2025-26 campaign and fifth of his career.
