OMAHA, Neb. – Omaha Athletics and NET, Nebraska's PBS, announced today that they have entered into an agreement to broadcast four UNO hockey games this season.

“We're very happy to continue our mutually beneficial partnership with NET to bring UNO hockey to both a statewide and national audience,” said Mike Kemp, Associate Athletic Director.  “The quality of the NET's work allows us to further distribute the broadcast regionally through Fox College Sports, allowing Maverick fans outside of Nebraska to see their team.”

The schedule of games is as follows. All game times are central.  The start time of the game against Miami is being moved back 30 minutes to accommodate Fox College Sports.

Friday, Nov. 18 vs. Minnesota Duluth, 7 p.m. – FCS
Friday, Jan. 6 vs. North Dakota, 7 p.m.
Saturday, Jan. 21 vs. Miami, 7:30 p.m. – FCS
Friday, Feb. 10 vs. Western Michigan, 7 p.m.

FCS – Fox College Sports (Regions announced at a later date)

Again this season, funding for the broadcasts is provided by UNO's Office of Academic and Student Affairs.

“The UNO story is one that touches all parts of the state and we are excited that through our agreement with NET, we are able to not only showcase the excellence of our student-athletes, but of our academic programs as well,” said BJ Reed, Senior Vice Chancellor.  “This will be a great opportunity for NET viewers to learn more about our university and see what we mean when we say we have 'Maverick Momentum.'”

The NET schedule now gives the Mavericks a total of 10 televised games this season.  They will appear on CBS Sports Network at Denver on Jan. 27 and at home against Denver on March 3.  They also have games on American Sports Network on Oct. 21 vs. Vermont, Jan. 7 vs. North Dakota and Jan. 13 at Colorado College.  An additional game on ASN at Wisconsin on Dec. 2 was announced on Sept. 26.
