GAME 1 -- OMAHA 3, FORT WAYNE 1Senior right-hander
Tyler Fox (8-2) recorded the win on the mound, going 8.0 innings and allowing one run on seven hits and a walk with four strikeouts. The victory pulls him within one of tying UNO's all-time record for career wins (29), held by former Maverick Kyle Funk (2000-03).

Junior
Sam Palensky finished 2-for-4 at the plate, while senior
Clayton Taylor was 1-for-1 with his team-leading ninth home run of the season and two walks.
The Mavericks wasted no time offensively, tallying their first run of the day in the top of the first inning. Senior
Cole Gruber got on with a one-out walk, promptly stole second and later came in on sophomore
Ryan Cate's RBI single to right center. Taylor then added his solo homer to right in the third inning, pushing the lead to 2-0.
IPFW made it a one-run game in the sixth, as Kendall Whitman's RBI single to right drove in Jackson Boyce to cut the Mavericks' lead to 2-1.
UNO put up an insurance run in the seventh, started with senior
Collin Leif being hit by a pitch to lead off the inning. Senior
Alex Schultz drew a four-pitch walk to put Leif on second, and both runners moved into scoring position on a sacrifice bunt by Gruber. After Taylor was intentionally walked to load the bases, freshman
Grant Suponchick singled to short, driving in Leif and bringing the final score to 3-1.
GAME 2 -- FORT WAYNE 2, OMAHA 0Trevor Storie (5-5) got the win in game two, throwing 7.2 shutout innings of two-hit ball with one walk and eight strikeouts. Junior left-hander
Sam Murphy (2-5) was tagged with the loss, surrendering two runs on two hits and two walks with 10 strikeouts over 7.0 innings. The save went to Jake Weber (8), who tossed 1.1 shutout innings with no hits, no walks and a strikeout.
Gruber (1-for-4) and freshman
Riley Herold (1-for-3) mustered the only two hits of the game for Omaha with a single apiece.
Omaha and Fort Wayne were both held hitless through the first five and a half innings. The Mastodons did their damage in the bottom of the sixth, when a Whitman sacrifice fly scored Shannon Baker, followed by a Greg Kaiser RBI double to right center to plate Brandon Soat. It was all IPFW needed, as the lead held despite Murphy and sophomore reliever
David Flattery not allowing another hit over the remaining two shutout innings.
