OMAHA, Neb. — Omaha Baseball (14-21, 9-8 Summit) heads on the road this weekend for a three-game Summit League series at Northern Colorado (12-31, 9-10 Summit), beginning Friday, May 1 at 3 p.m. CT. The series will stream on the Summit League Network.
The Mavericks are coming off a midweek matchup against Creighton before returning to Tal Anderson Field, where they opened their series against St. Thomas with a 9-1 win behind a strong outing from
Tanner Foertsch. Omaha dropped the final two games of the series, including an 18-12 decision in the finale despite recording 12 runs.
Omaha's offense continues to produce across the lineup, with multiple hitters contributing in recent games.
Cardel Dick and
Jackson Trout have been steady presences at the plate, combining for 11 hits, 13 RBIs and six home runs last week. Cardel enters the weekend with seven home runs on the season, while Trout has added six.
Trout has paced the Mavericks throughout the season, leading the team with a .375 batting average, 54 hits and 12 doubles. He also tops the Summit League in batting average, slugging percentage (.597) and OPS (1.039).
Following the trip to Greeley, Omaha remains on the road with a midweek matchup at K-State on Wednesday, May 6 at 6 p.m. CT, before traveling to Tulsa, Okla., for a three-game Summit League series against first-place Oral Roberts from May 8-10.
