The Omaha cross country team heads to Iowa City, Iowa to compete in the NCAA Midwest Regional on Friday, Nov. 11.
The meet, hosted by Iowa, will be run at the Ashton Cross Country Course with the women's race beginning at 11 a.m. This is Omaha's second NCAA appearance after competing in the Midwest Regional last season in Lawrence, Kan.
The Mavericks last competed on Oct. 29 when they finished sixth at the Summit League Championships in Macomb, Ill. They finished with 167 points for the championship.
Willa Koenig led the Mavericks at the Summit Championship, doing so for the third time in five races this season. She ran at time of 22:39.8 to finish 17th overall over the 6K course.
Kayla Sabotin was second for the Mavericks and 23rd in the 68-person race with a time of 22:58.0.
Anita Jenkins finished 41st overall with a time of 23:55.7, and Rosie Gensichen completed the course in 24:05.6 to finish in 48th place.
Renata Valquier-Chavez was fifth for UNO and 51st overall at 24:38.1.
Also running for the Mavericks in the Summit Championship were Alyssa Averhoff (56th/24:58.8), Alyssa Thavenet (57th/25:05.7), Lauren Houston (59th/25:20.8) and Sarah Steffensmeier (60th/25:26.3).
