ASHLAND, Neb. – Omaha Cross Country placed eighth in the Summit League Championship on Saturday.
The Mavericks were led in their effort by sophomore
Meredith Richter (Medford, Wis.) who finished the race with a personal record of 21:53.16 and finished in 46
th place.
Richter was followed by freshman
Hope Riedel (Lincoln, Neb.) in 41
st place with a personal record of 22:02.42. Freshman
Litzey Fredette (Omaha, Neb.) was the next Mav across the line in 57
th place with a time of 22:53.76.
Senior
Sydney Beaudin (Omaha, Neb.) and sophomore
Ainsley Anderson (Omaha, Neb.) rounded out the pack with back-to-back finishes in 64
th and 65
th place. Both runners set personal records with Beaudin recording a time of 23:27.54 and Anderson a time of 23:33.44.
Of the eight Mavericks to finish the race, five set personal records for a season high. Junior
Izzy Apel (Lincoln, Neb.) was the fifth personal record with a time of 24:26.40. So far this season, Anderson has set a new PR each race.
Omaha Cross Country has a chance to qualify for the national meet at the NCAA Midwest Regional in Stillwater, Okla. on Nov. 14.
