ASHLAND, Neb. – Omaha Cross Country ran its way to a runner-up finish at the Platte River Rumble Collegiate on Friday.
 
The Mavericks' 46 points secured their second-place finish and propelled them to finish ahead of the two other teams from the Summit League. South Dakota State finished in third with 82 points and Kansas City finished in fifth place with 127 points.
 
Sophomore Meredith Richter (Medford, Wis.) led the Mavs with a personal record time of 22:03.8 and a fourth-place finish.
 
Freshman Briley Early (Leawood, Kan.) was right behind her in fifth place with a time of 22:13.3 followed by freshman Litzey Fredette (Omaha, Neb.) in 10^th place with a personal record of 22:51.5.
 
Freshman Hope Riedel (Lincoln, Neb.) was the fourth Maverick to finish in 12^th place with a time of 22:54.7. Junior Lily Schwartz (Lincoln, Neb.) rounded out the top-five for Omaha with a 21^st place finish and a time of 23:45.0.
 
In addition to Richter and Fredette, Omaha set two more personal records on the course. Sophomore Ainsley Anderson (Omaha, Neb.) finished with a time of 24:11.2 and freshman Sienne McEneaney (Naperville, Ill.) finished with a time of 25:10.5.
 
The Mavericks will have one more race at home this year when they host the Summit League Championship on Saturday, Nov. 1.
