OMAHA, Neb. - Omaha Cross Country is set for the 2026 season.
"We're excited to kick off the 2026 cross country season," head coach Cliff Cisar said. "Our schedule is designed to have us peak at the right time, giving this group a great opportunity to put together a strong team performance when championship season arrives. The biggest key will be athlete buy-in. If everyone commits to the process every day, we believe this team can accomplish some special things."
The season kicks off at home with the Platte River Rumble Gold on Friday, Sept. 4. All home meets will be held at Mahoney State Park on the Mahoney Cross Country Course.
The Mavericks will head down I-80 to Lincoln for the Woody Greeno Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 19, hosted by Nebraska. October will kick off with a trip to Notre Dame for the Joe Piane Invitational on Friday, Oct. 2.
The Platte River series will continue Friday, Oct. 16 with the Platte River Rumble College for the first 6-kilometer race of the year as the Mavericks return home.
The Summit League Cross Country Championships will be held in St. Paul, Minn., on Saturday, Oct. 31 and the NCAA Midwest Regional will take place on Friday, Nov. 13, in Ames, Iowa.
