The Mavericks improve to 10-8-4 overall while the Bobcats had their six-game unbeaten streak snapped.  They're now 11-7-4.  The Mavs are now off until Jan. 13 when they begin a two-game home series with Minnesota Duluth.

The Mavericks opened the scoring on an early power play.  Jayson Megna took a pass from Bryce Aneloski and zipped a shot past
goalie Eric Hartzell to put UNO ahead just 1:54 into the game.

The Bobcats tied the game on their own power play later in the game.  Connor Jones won a faceoff in the UNO zone and fed defenseman Zach Currie who fired the puck past Ryan Massa for his fifth goal of the year.

UNO retook the lead with 61 seconds remaining in the period.  Off a rush, Johnnie Searfoss broke down the right wing and made a cross-ice feed to Brent Gwidt.  He beat Hartzell to the five hole to make it 2-1 UNO after one.

The Mavericks stretched their lead while on the penalty kill late in the second period.  Jayson Megna sent a pass through two Quinnipiac defenders to spring Matt White.  He threw a back-hander past Hartzell for his team-leading third shorthanded goal.

Searfoss closed the scoring, taking a pass from Gwidt and firing the puck into an empty net with 1:10 remaining.  It was UNO's only shot in the third period.
