Lindsey Slocum and Katelyn Hinton# each drove in two runs in the fourth inning to help the Mavs top Missouri Western, 6-1 Thursday and advance to the semifinal of the MIAA postseason tournament at Blue Valley Sports Complex. Nebraska-Omaha (47-9) won twice Thursday, defeating Truman, 1-0 in the first round.
The Mavericks will face Emporia State Friday at 3 p.m. for a chance to advance to Saturday's championship round. UNO and ESU shared the MIAA regular season title.
