ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - The Mavericks set the UNO single-season home run record with a pair of blasts Wednesday afternoon as they swept Missouri Western. Nebraska-Omaha (40-9, 13-2 MIAA) extended its winning streak to 20 straight games with the 8-0 victory in five innings in the opener and a 5-1 win in the second game.

Treightin Yates and Kristin Wellwood# hit home runs in the fourth inning of the first game to give UNO 55 homers, breaking 2003's record of 54.
Yates hit a three-run shot to left field and then Wellwood followed with a two-run blast to right. Yates drove in two more runs with a single in the fifth to give UNO an 8-0 lead.

Beth Haley# then retired the side in the bottom of the fifth to give UNO the run-rule win. Haley (17-2) allowed just three hits with five strikeouts and no walks. She won her 10th straight decision and has allowed just three earned runs in her last eight appearances.

Lindsey Slocum# improved to 15-2 with the win in game two. She allowed six hits and an unearned run. She struck out one and walked none.
