All-time leading scorer
Scott Parse has signed a two-year contract with the National Hockey League's Los Angeles Kings. Parse, a two-time Hobey Baker Award finalist, was a sixth-round choice of the Kings in 2004.
Parse elected to remain with the Mavericks and finished his four-year career with 79 goals and 118 assists in 159 career games. He was a three-time all-Central Collegiate Hockey Association selection and led the league in scoring as a junior, when he was the league's player of the year. He was also named to the CCHA all-rookie team as a freshman.
Last season, Parse scored a career-best 24 goals and added 28 assists in 40 games. He played a school-record 159 straight games in his career before missing the last two games of the season with an injury.
The six-foot, 180-pound wing from Portage, Mich., was a first-team All-American in 2005-06 and a second-team pick in 2006-07.
