A logo designed by Doug Johansen of Elkhorn, Neb., will be the one used to commemorate UNO's 10th Anniversary season of NCAA Division I hockey. The logo will be used at center ice at the Qwest Center and on the Maverick media guide and game programs.

The design was selected from a field of 84 entries in the contest which began last spring.

Johansen will receive two full season tickets for the 2006-07 Maverick season, complimentary hockey merchandise and will be recognized at center ice at the Maverick home opener Oct. 10 against Manitoba at the Qwest Center.

UNO announced that it would start a Division I hockey program on May 1, 1996 and played its first game on October 17, 1997.
