ST. CLOUD, MN -- The Nebraska-Omaha women's tennis team captured its first-ever North Central Conference title on Saturday, knocking off defending champion North Dakota.

UNO finished with 58 points. UND followed with 54 points and St. Cloud State finished third with 40 points.

The Mavericks' Katie Schmidt captured the No. 1 singles title and Pam Le won the No. 4 singles championship. Schmidt also paired up with Abby Wilson to take the No. 2 doubles match. Sarah Huls and Lindsay Henjum capped off UNO's first NCC championship in five years by winning the No. 1 doubles match.

The Mavs, third in the latest NCAA North Central Region ranking, will wait to hear where they will be seeded for the first two rounds of the NCAA tournament, May 5-7.
