Senior Cameron Mitchell (Stony Plain, Alberta, Canada) opened the scoring at 18:16 of the first period, and senior Tyler Rollwagen (Bloomington, Minn.) doubled the lead at 6:15. The RedHawks responded with two goals to tie the game before Brett Hyland (Edmonton, Alberta, Canada) restored the Mavericks advantage, making it 3-2.

Senior Jacob Guevin (Drummondville, Quebec, Canada) extended the Omaha's lead early in the third period, and senior Jacob Slipec (White Rock, British Columbia, Canada) sealed the win with eight seconds remaining.

In game two on Feb. 28 Marcus Nguyen (Calgary, Alberta, Canada) and Myles Hilman (Sylvan Lake, Alberta, Canada) kept the Mavericks within striking distance, but Omaha fell 4-2. Nguyen scored his team-leading 11th goal of the 2025-26 season and has tallied three goals over his last four games.

Following the final regular-season series, freshman forward Jérémy Loranger (Trois-Rivières, Quebec, Canada) was named the National Collegiate Hockey Conference Rookie of the Month for February, the league announced Tuesday. The honor marks the first of Loranger's career after he led all NCHC freshmen in scoring during the month.

On Feb. 21, he factored into all three Maverick goals with one goal and two assists. He closed the month with two assists against (RV) Miami (Ohio) on Feb. 27, finishing February with seven points on three goals and four assists in five games.
