Omaha Hockey announces elevated partnership with Hurrdat Sports

OMAHA, Neb. – Omaha Hockey announced a partnership with Hurrdat Sports to enhance its broadcast coverage throughout the 2026-27 season, bringing expanded intermission content and on-air talent to Maverick fans.

"Relevancy creates opportunity, and this partnership is another step in our continued investment in the Omaha Hockey brand," said Vice Chancellor / Director of Athletics Adrian Dowell. "Hurrdat Sports brings tremendous creativity, credibility and reach, and together we'll deliver an enhanced experience that better tells the story of our student-athletes, coaches and one of college hockey's premier environments. As we continue raising expectations for Omaha Athletics, partnerships like this help expand our visibility, engage our fans in new ways and position Omaha Hockey for continued growth on and off the ice."

As part of the partnership, Omaha alumna and former Maverick women's soccer student-athlete Avarie Howard will join the broadcast team. Howard, a native of Overland Park, Kansas, earned her degree in journalism and media communication from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in May 2022 following a four-year career with the Mavericks.

Howard will contribute to pregame and intermission coverage throughout the season alongside Voices of Maverick Hockey Mike Vaillancourt and Terry Leahy, helping deliver additional insight, storytelling and behind-the-scenes content surrounding the Mavericks.

"We're incredibly excited to partner with Omaha Hockey and help elevate the game-day broadcast experience for Maverick fans," Hurrdat President Bill Hipsher said. "Our team is passionate about creating high-quality sports content that brings fans closer to the action. By combining Hurrdat Sports' production experience and on-air talent with one of the region's premier college hockey programs, we have an opportunity to build an engaging show that showcases Omaha Hockey, its student-athletes and the energy surrounding every home game."

The partnership reflects Omaha Hockey's continued commitment to enhancing the fan experience while expanding the reach and visibility of the program across Nebraska and beyond.
"This partnership with Hurrdat Sports is an exciting opportunity to continue growing the Omaha Hockey brand while showcasing the University of Nebraska at Omaha," head coach Mike Gabinet said. "We have a tremendous story to tell, and Hurrdat's creativity and expertise will help us connect with our fans, alumni, recruits and the Omaha community in new and engaging ways. The addition of our expanded broadcast team is another opportunity to showcase our student-athletes, our program and the incredible passion that surrounds Omaha Hockey. We're excited to work together."
