OMAHA, Neb. – Omaha Baseball (4-6) travels to Lincoln for an in-state matchup against Nebraska (5-5) at 1:30 p.m. CT on Tuesday, March 3, before competing in the Gopher Tournament from March 6-8 at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minn.

The Mavericks enter the week following a four-game series against (RV) Wichita State, capped by a 15-8 victory on Saturday, Feb. 28. Omaha erupted for nine runs over the final three innings to secure the win.

Cardel Dick powered the offense, going 2-for-5 with two home runs and three RBIs in Saturday's victory. Over the Feb. 27-28 stretch, Cardel batted 4-for-10 with five RBIs and four runs scored, raising his average to .357 while posting a team-best 1.403 OPS and .929 slugging percentage.

On the mound in game two of the doubleheader, right-hander Nate Moquin recorded his third save of the season with three scoreless innings, allowing one hit and striking out three. His three saves lead the Summit League. 

Right-hander Maddox Meyer, the Summit League Kwik Star Peak Pitcher of the Week on Tuesday, Feb. 24, tossed six innings on Feb. 26, only allowing two runs on seven hits with four strikeouts, lowering his ERA to 1.50.

Offensively, Jackson Trout leads Omaha with a .385 batting average, 15 hits and eight RBIs, while Tyler Bishop also has driven in eight runs. Chase Diggins ranks second on the team with 14 hits and is batting .318 through 10 games.

Following the midweek game in Lincoln, Omaha will compete in the Gopher Tournament from March 6-8. The Mavericks open tournament play against Southern Illinois on Friday at 3 p.m., followed by a 3 p.m. matchup against Northwestern on Saturday. Omaha closes the weekend against Minnesota on Sunday at 6 p.m.
