OMAHA, Neb. – No. 2 seed Omaha Baseball heads north for the 2026 Summit League Baseball Championship, at the University of Minnesota from May 20-23.
The Mavericks open tournament play against No. 3 seed Northern Colorado on Wednesday, May 20 at 6 p.m. CT, with the game streamed on the Summit League Network.
Omaha enters postseason play riding momentum after closing the regular season with three straight victories over South Dakota State at Tal Anderson Field. After dropping the series opener, 5-0, the Mavericks answered with back-to-back-to-back wins of 10-7, 11-3 and 13-8 to secure the four-game series heading into tournament week.
Offensively, Omaha has continued to swing one of the hottest bats in the Summit League down the stretch. 2026 First Team All-League honoree
Jackson Trout has remained a catalyst at the top of the lineup, leading the conference in batting average (.376), slugging percentage (.624) and OPS (1.060), while ranking second in hits (70).
Trout also leads the Mavericks with nine home runs and shares the team lead in doubles (15) with fellow First Team All-League selection
Tyler Bishop.
Bishop continued to deliver timely offense throughout the South Dakota State series as Omaha posted double-digit runs in each of its final three regular-season games.
Hayden Lewis put together a standout weekend against the Jackrabbits with eight hits, five RBI and a home run, while
Cardel Dick added to his power numbers after leading the Mavericks in home runs during conference play.
On the mound, Omaha received strong performances throughout the final weekend of the regular season.
Maddox Meyer continued to anchor the Mavericks' rotation, earning the win in game two of the series after striking out five across five innings pitched. Out of the bullpen,
Nate Moquin and
Sam Beck helped shut the door late, with Moquin entering postseason play leading the Summit League with eight saves.
Omaha and Northern Colorado split their regular-season series earlier this season in Greeley. After dropping the opener, the Mavericks bounced back with consecutive wins, including a wild 12-11 victory in the series finale where Omaha recorded a Division I program-record four double plays.
