Meyer named to Pitcher of the Year Award Watch List

OMAHA, Neb. – Omaha baseball sophomore right-hander Maddox Meyer has been named to the Pitcher of the Year Award Watch List, the College Baseball Foundation announced Wednesday.

A total of 142 pitchers from 26 conferences were named to the watch list, recognizing many of the nation's top mound performers through the early portion of the 2026 season.

Meyer delivered his best outing as a Maverick in Omaha's 3-1 victory over Arizona on Feb. 17. A 2026 Summit League Player to Watch, Meyer struck out 10 batters across six scoreless innings while allowing just two hits to earn the win.

Following the performance, Meyer was ranked No. 1 on the Division I Baseball Tuesday Top Pitchers List and was named the Summit League Kwik Star Peak Pitcher of the Week.

The Mavericks will open Summit League play March 13-15 with their first home series of the season against North Dakota State at Tal Anderson Field. First pitch for the series opener is scheduled for 4 p.m. CT.
