OMAHA, Neb. – Omaha Hockey (10-17-0, 6-11-0 NCHC) returns home to Omaha, Neb. to face off against No. 8 Denver (17-11-3, 13-6-1, NCHC) for Stripe the Arena on Feb. 13 and Senior Night on Feb. 14 at Baxter Arena on Kemp Ice after a series split with the defending national champions, then-no. 3 Western Michigan from Jan. 30-31 at Lawson Arena. After falling to the Broncos, 5-2, on Jan. 30, the Mavericks rebounded with a 4-1 victory at Lawson Arena on Jan. 31.
The Jan. 31 win marked the Omaha's 18
th ranked matchup of the 2025-26 season. The Mavericks have won six games against ranked teams during the campaign, including a series sweep against then-No. 15 Colorado College from Oct. 31-Nov. 1 at Ed Robson Arena.
During the series opener against Western Michigan, freshman forward
Marcus Nguyen (Calgary, Alberta, Canada) scored Omaha's first goal of the night 13:48 into the first period, netting his eighth goal of the season to even the score at 1-1. Sophomore forward
Maxime Pellerin (Victoriaville, Quebec, Canada) also recorded his eighth goal of the season, scoring 8:36 into the third period.
In game two, Nguyen helped lead the Mavericks to a 4-1 victory over the Broncos, scoring his second goal of the weekend to extend Omaha's lead to 3-1 just 3:31 into the third period.

Luke Woodworth (Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, Canada) leads the team with 16 points after recording two assists and a goal against then-No. 3 Western Michigan.
Simon Latkoczy (Trenčín, Slovakia), Omaha's nominee for the 2026 Hobey Baker Memorial Award, earned his 50th career victory during Omaha's 4-1 win over the Broncos.
After being named KJ Branding NCHC Goaltender of the Week for the second time during the 2025-26 season, Latkoczy made 68 total saves against WMU, leading the NCHC in saves that weekend.
Denver is led by Eric Pohlkamp with a team-high 27 points, including a team-best 16 goals. Clarke Caswell leads the Pioneers with 19 assists.
The last time the Pioneers and Mavericks met, Omaha earned a series split against then-No. 5 Denver. The Mavericks secured the longest shootout win in NCHC history after 16 rounds in the series opener before falling to the Pioneers in Game two.
Omaha heads to Tempe, Ariz., for their last regular-season away series from Feb. 20-21 at Mullett Arena. Both games will stream on NCHC.tv, with radio coverage on 1290 KOIL and the Varsity Network.
