Hockey hosts (RV) Colorado College at Baxter Arena

OMAHA, Neb. – Omaha Hockey (8-16-0, 4-10-0 NCHC) is set to host (RV) Colorado College (9-10-3, 3-6-3 NCHC) at Baxter Arena on Kemp Ice after sweeping the Tigers in Colorado Springs on Oct. 31 – Nov. 1 at Ed Robson Arena. Fans can listen live on 1290 KOIL or the Varsity Network, with both games streaming on NCHC.tv.

Chuck-a-Puck returns to Baxter Arena on Friday night, Jan. 23, presented by Kiewit Corporation. Fans can purchase one puck for $5 or five for $20 for a chance to win a $1,000 travel voucher.

Ahead of Friday night's game at Baxter Arena, the Omaha Mavericks welcome junior defenseman Ryan McCleary (Swift Current, Saskatchewan, Canada), who joined the program on Jan. 20.

McCleary comes to Omaha after spending three seasons with the Portland Winterhawks (2020–23) and one season with the Swift Current Broncos (2023–24) in the Western Hockey League, along with two seasons in the ECHL with the Cincinnati Cyclones (2024–26) and one season with the Toronto Marlies (2025–26) of the American Hockey League.

He was selected by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the seventh round (194th overall) of the 2021 NHL Draft.
Omaha turns its attention to Friday night's matchup against (RV) Colorado College, a team the Mavericks faced during their first road series of the 2025–26 season.

The Mavericks swept the Tigers on the road, earning a 3–2 victory on opening night before securing a 5–4 win on Saturday, Nov. 1, against then-No. 15 Colorado College.

Heading into Friday night, sophomore forward Maxime Pellerin (Victoriaville, Quebec, Canada) continues to pace the Omaha offensively, opening the scoring Friday night against (RV) St. Cloud State on Jan. 10 while adding two assists. Pellerin leads the Mavericks with seven goals and 15 points.

In Omaha's most recent series, which came against (RV) Miami (Ohio), senior goaltender Simon Latkoczy (Trenčín, Slovakia), a nominee for the 2026 Hobey Baker Memorial Award, returned from injury, making his first appearance since Dec. 12. Latkoczy shut out the RedHawks through the first two periods before the RedHawks scored three times in the third. He finished the night with 22 saves.

For the Tigers, Owen Beckner leads (RV) Colorado College with 16 points (6G, 10A), while Gavin Lindberg follows behind with 15pts (6G, 9A).

The last time Omaha and (RV) Colorado College met at Baxter Arena was Jan. 10–11, 2025, when the Mavericks swept the Tigers, opening the series with a 5–2 victory before securing a 3–1 win.

Omaha returns home to Baxter Arena for Stripe the Arena on Feb. 13 and Senior Night on Feb. 14 against Denver. Both games will stream on NCHC.tv, with radio coverage available on 1290 KOIL and the Varsity Network.
