MANHATTAN, Kan. - Omaha men's golf kicked off the 2025-26 season with the Wildcat Invitational, hosted by K-State at Colbert Hills Golf Course in Manhattan, Kan. The tournament was delayed due to inclement weather in the area with Monday's second round completed Tuesday morning due to darkness.
Omaha finished 12th of 14 teams (302-299-312=913). K-State won the tournament and Southern Illinois' Anthony De Shutter took home the individual title, carding a 54-hole total of 212 (-4) to lead the field.
Seniors
Ethan Smith (Doniphan, Neb.) and
Nolan Johnson (Gretna, Neb.) finished T33 to lead the Mavericks at a 9-over 225 over three rounds. Smith's even rounds of 72 over the first 36 holes marked the team's low round of the tournament. The newcomer's nine birdies set the pace for
Joey Baldwin's Mavericks.
