SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Omaha men's golf junior
Nolan Johnson finished t-7 overall as the Mavericks completed the Twin Oaks Invitational t-3 of 12 participating teams.
Johnson finished his 54 holes +2, shooting scores of 75 (+4), 70 (-1) and 70 (-1). The Gretna, Neb. native carded eight birdies and an eagle on the par-5 14 in the third round. The team title was won by SIUE, host Missouri State's Tim Holmberg finished seven-under to earn the individual crown.
Three Mavericks cared rounds of two-under par with
Marvin Luchutaskul (individual),
Sam Vocelka (individual) and
Luke Strako turning in scores of 69 (one in each round).
Omaha led the field on par-5 holes, averaging a score of 4.62 strokes (-23). The Mavericks' 42 birdies tied Missouri State for the tournament lead.
Johnson was -6 on par-5 holes, averaging 4.50 strokes;
Thunder Suwannapratheep led Omaha with 10 birdies (t-7 among all participating players).
