RIVERSIDE, IOWA –– Omaha Men's Golf sophomore Sam Vocelka finished sixth Tuesday as the Mavericks completed the Hawkeye Invitational, hosted by Iowa at Blue Top Ridge at Riverside.

The Mavericks finished eighth of 14 competing teams, while host Iowa won the event's team title. The Hawkeye's Ryan Shellberg took home medalist honors at 10-under.

Vocelka, an Omaha native, turned in rounds of 73 (+1), 70 (-2) and 72 (E) to finished 1-under through 54 holes to pace the Mavericks. He made birdie on 11 of his 54 holes played.

He record three nine-hole scores of 35.

Omaha Men's Golf begins the Summit League Championships on Sunday, May 3 in Mesa, Arizona at the Longbow Golf Club.
