SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Omaha baseball's Ben Weber and alumnus Luke Gainer were named to the Summit League Academic All-League Team, it was announced Monday.

The pair of Mavericks both held a 4.0 during their time as student-athletes at Omaha. Weber is working towards a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, and Gainer recently earned his Bachelor's degree in Biology.

This is Weber's first time appearing on the Academic All-League Team and Gainer's second time. Gainer was also named the 2025 Scholar of the Championship by the Summit League.

Weber was named to the conference's All-League Second Team after recording a team-leading 3.92 ERA, 68 strikeouts, 80.1 innings pitched and a .232 opponent batting average.

Gainer appeared from the mound in his 65th career game during the 2025 Summit League Championship, tying him for the most games played for a Maverick pitcher in program history.

To be eligible for the Academic All-League team, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.30 (on a 4.0 scale), have completed at least one full academic year at the current institution and participated in 50 percent of their team's competitions, except pitchers who must have participated in 20 percent of their team's total contests.

Sports information directors bring forth nominations from the league's six institutions that carry baseball, and voting is conducted by both the SIDs and facility athletic representatives (FAR). The team is comprised of the 10 student-athletes receiving the most votes, with all ties standing.
