SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Omaha softball pitcher
Maddia Groff was announced Monday as the Kwik Star Summit League Peak Pitcher of the Week. This is the fifth time this season the sophomore southpaw as earned the honor.
Groff made two starts (both complete games) and three appearances as the Mavericks swept South Dakota at home to strengthen the team's hold on first place in the conference.
The Omaha native earned all three victories on the weekend, posting an earned run average of just 0.89, allowing two runs in 15.2 innings of work. In the series opener, Groff held the Coyotes to just one hits through the opening four innings.
Holding South Dakota batters to a .161 average at the plate, Groff recorded 22 punchouts and walked just one batter the entire weekend. Groff struckout 11 in the series finale on Sunday.

Nationally, Groff stands among the top pitchers in Division I with this week's rankings yet to be compiled.
