OMAHA, Neb. – Omaha Hockey (7-11-0, 3-7-0 NCHC) heads to Ithaca, N.Y. for their third straight away series, facing No. 17 Cornell (7-4-0, 6-2-0 ECAC) at Lynah Rink from Jan. 2-3 to open 2026. Fans can listen live on 1290 KOIL or the Varsity Network. Both games will stream on ESPN+.
The Mavericks set to face their eighth ranked opponent of the 2025-26 season as they head to No. 17 Cornell after topping Manitoba 4-1 in an exhibition game at Baxter Arena on Dec. 30 to close out 2025 in Omaha, Neb.
Against the Bisons, junior defenseman Aidan de la Gorgendiere (Langley, British Columbia, Canada) jump-started the Mavericks, blasting a power-play goal, his third of the season, with under a minute remaining in the first.
With 11 minutes left in the second, sophomore forward
Myles Hilman (Sylvan Lake, Alberta, Canada) doubled the lead, firing home his fourth goal of the season from the side, set up by senior forward
Tyler Rollwagen (Bloomington, Minn.).
Omaha capped a three-goal second period when freshman forward Jérémy Loranger (Trois-Rivières, Quebec, Canada) scored with just 13 seconds remaining, recording his third goal in two games. Loranger tallied his first two career goals during the Mavericks 4-1 victory over (RV) Augustana on Dec. 20.

Jacob Slipec scored an empty netter with 2:15 left.
Freshman goaltender
Dawson Cowan (Warren, Manitoba, Canada) made 16 saves through two periods in his fourth straight start and eighth appearance of the season, before
Will Craig closed out the contest for Omaha.
The Maviercks have scored 12 goals over its last three games, with eight different players finding the scoresheet.
Through 19 games, 19 of 26 different Mavericks have found the back of the net, with three scoring five or more goals.
Luke Woodworth leads Omaha with 13 points (3G, 10A), while
Maxime Pellerin follows with 12 points (6G, 6A).
No. 17 Cornell heads into Friday's game after defeating St. Lawrence 7-2 on Dec. 6.
Ryan Walsh leads the Bears with 12 points, while also owning a team-high of nine assists. Jonathan Castagna leads the team with six goals.
Omaha and No. 17 Cornell have met four times since 2013. The Mavericks are 1-2-1 against the Bears. In 2014, their last meeting, the Omaha defeated the No. 17 Cornell 2-1 in Ithaca, N.Y.
Omaha Hockey returns home to Baxter Arena, welcoming St. Cloud State from Jan 9-10 for their first home series during 2026. Both games will stream on NCHC.tv, with radio coverage available on 1290 KOIL and the Varsity Network.
