OMAHA, Neb. - Omaha Softball head coach
Mike Heard has signed six student-athletes to join the Mavericks ahead of the 2027 season.
Presley Beck, Amelia Johnson, Alisha McMurtry, Brenly Noerrlinger, Addison Ray and Addie Schneider set to arrive in Omaha in time for the fall 2026 semester.
Presley Beck
Joining the Mavericks by way of Caddo, Okla., Beck arrives in the 402 as an All-State catcher after a stellar four-year career at Caddo High School. With the Bruins, Beck, a strong bat at the plate, is a three-time fast and slow pitch (six total titles) state champion, earning all-conference and all-state accolades in the process.

"Presley brings a strong bat with the ability to hit for power and average. She is a talented catcher who can also play first base. Presley will bring a strong arm along with toughness and leadership to the catcher position."
Amelia Johnson
Entering her senior season this spring, Amelia Johnson has turned up the heat in Santa Clarita, Calif. The catcher saw action at third base in her first three campaigns at Saugus high School. After earning Foothill League Honorable Mention honors as a sophomore, Johnson sparked as a junior, earning the Foothill League Player of the Year nod, in addition to being named Second Team All-State as a catcher, team MVP and
Los Angeles Daily News Girls Athlete of the Week. She was also named to the PGF All-American National Watchlist. Last season, the Centurions won the Foothill League after a 12-0 conference finish. The team finished the 2025 season 23-5 overall, finishing in the state playoff.

"Amelia is coming to us from California and we are excited she is making the move to Omaha. Amelia is a very versatile player who can contribute in multiple ways. She is excellent behind the plate and has the athleticism to excel in the outfield too. She will bring both speed and power offensively."
Alisha McMurtry
Hailing from nearby Bellevue, Neb., McMurtry just wrapped up a remarkable interscholastic career at Bellevue East, leading the Chieftains to several deep postseason runs. Having set a slew of records as a pitcher and offensive power, McMurtry holds the Bellevue East single-season records in earned run average (1.11), strikeouts (328) and wins in a season (19). She owns career records in home runs (29), ERA (2.59) and strikeouts (854), among others. The 2025 Metro Coaches Player of the Year, McMurtry is a two-time honorable mention. In 2024, she was named First Team All-Class, First Team All-State, First Team All-Metro and the Metro Coaches Player of the Year.

Brenly Noerrlinger
The Lincoln Southeast product comes to Omaha as a multi-sport athlete, taking part in softball, basketball and track and field. The freshman athlete of the year at Lincoln Southwest, Noerrlinger started at shortstop on a state tournament-qualifying team as a rookie, eventually leading the Silverhawks to a state championship in 2025. An all-league and all-state selection in basketball and softball, Noerrlinger, from Lincoln, Neb., was a Second Team All-State selection as a junior. In the classroom, the middle infielder was a four-year Academic All-HAC honoree.

"Brenly is an in-state player who has all the characteristics we value in our program. She is a strong leader, high character and hard worker who is also excellent in the classroom. Brenly can play multiple infield positions at a high level. She always grinds out at-bats and makes herself a tough out."
Addison Ray
A four-year honor roll student, Ray joins the Mavericks from Bunceton, Mo. where she has played softball, basketball, volleyball and took part in track and field at Cooper County R-IV. A multi-time First Team All-District and All-Region selection in softball, Ray has also torn it up on the basketball court, earning all-league and all-district accolades. Seeing club softball action for Select FastPitch and head coach Matt Alvarado, Ray led the squad to qualify for the premier division of PGF Nationals, playing six games in one day with three home runs, including a go ahead homer in the championship game. Her mom, Tammy, played softball at CMU.

"We are excited to watch Addison transition to the college level. She can be weapon offensively with her power at the plate. She is a player that pitchers must always be aware of. Defensively, she has very good feet and can play both corner infield spots defensively equally well."
Addie Schneider
From Kansas City, Mo., Schneider bolstered the Liberty North Eagles to a trio of deep district finishes, including back-to-back district titles as a junior and senior. The outfielder/utility played three varsity campaigns for the Eagles. As a sophomore, Schneider was named Academic All-League and the Eagles made it to the district title game. The following season, she hit .660 at the plate to lift the squad to a 26-10 record, Class 5, District 8 title and third place in Class 5 in all of Missouri for the first time in school history, making it to the semifinal. That season, She was named First Team All-District, First Team All-Cconference, First Team All-Region and to the "Final Four" Tournament Team. As a senior this fall, Schneider was First Team All-District, First Team All-Conference, First Team All-Region, First Team All-State, NFCA All-Region and Academic All-District.
