LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Omaha softball placed 18 student-athletes on the roll of National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Scholar-Athletes for the 2024-25 academic year, en route to the No. 3 grade point average (GPA) in Division I, it was revealed Thursday.
This is the second time in head coach
Mike Heard's tenure Omaha has earned an Easton/NFCA Top 10 GPA, with the team finishing the year combining for a 3.787 GPA.
The Mavericks have now bolstered a GPA of at least 3.50 in 11 consecutive semesters, dating back to spring 2020. The 2025 Summit League regular-season and tournament champions finished the spring 2025 semester with a 3.814 GPA.
Softball student-athletes earned 11 Dean's List accolades (min. 3.5 GPA) and six Mavericks were named to the Chancellor's List (4.0 GPA) in the spring 2025 semester.
