OMAHA, Neb. – (RV) Omaha Hockey (4-4-0, 2-2-0 NCHC) makes its second away trip of the season to continue conference playing, facing off against No. 3 Minnesota-Duluth (10-2-0, 3-1-0) from Nov. 14-15 at AMSOIL Arena.
(RV) Omaha has surged through its first eight games with four top 20 victories, three coming in consecutive fashion, highlighted by a dominant weekend sweep over then-No. 15 Colorado College (Oct. 31-Nov. 1), the lone NCHC team to notch a sweep that weekend.
In the Mavericks' most recent series against then-No. 8 North Dakota, (RV) Omaha tallied three goals over the weekend.
After falling behind five minutes into Friday's game on Nov. 7, senior defenseman Jacob Guévin (Drummondville, Quebec, Canada) responded midway through the opening frame to even things up, with his first goal of the season. In the second, junior defenseman Marc Lajoie (St. Albert, Alberta, Canada) cut the deficit to two in the second, but the Fighting Hawks pulled away for a 7-2 victory.
In game two, (RV) Omaha outshot the Fighting Hawks as junior defenseman Marc Lajoie netted his second goal of the weekend to bring the Mavericks within one, but then-No. 8 North Dakota held firm for a 4-1 win.
KJ Branding National Collegiate Hockey Conference Goaltender of the Week (Nov. 4), co-captain, and reigning NCHC Goaltender of the Year Simon Latkoczy (Trencin, Slovakia) made 20 saves a night against then-No. 8 North Dakota.
Across seven games, Latkoczy totals 212 saves, posting a .898 save percentage and a 3.45 goals-against average overall.
Following the weekend, sophomore forward Maxime Pellerin (Victoriaville, Quebec, Canada) continues to lead the Mavericks in points (8) and goals (5).
Senior defenseman and co-captain Griffin Ludtke (Elko, Minn.) leads (RV) Omaha with seven assists after contributing two to open the series with the Tigers on Oct. 31 and one to secure the series sweep.
Omaha has won five straight against the Bulldogs. (RV) Omaha and No. 3 Minnesota-Duluth last competed on Feb. 7-8, 2025, as the Mavericks swept the Minnesota-Duluth in Omaha, Neb., on Kemp Ice at Baxter Arena.
No. 8 Minnesota-Duluth welcomes the Mavericks to AMSOIL Arena after sweeping St. Cloud State at home from Nov. 7-8.
Through 12 games, sophomore forward Max Plante leads the Bulldogs with 10 goals, 12 assists, and 22 points. Following closely behind is sophomore forward and brother Zam Plante with seven goals, 12 assists, and 19 points.
(RV) Omaha Hockey returns home to Baxter Arena from Nov. 21-22, hosting the defending national champion, No. 9 Western Michigan. The games will be streamed on NCHC.tv and fans can listen live on 1290 KOIL or the Varsity Network.
