OMAHA, Neb. – (6) Omaha Women's Soccer (6-8-4, 3-4-1 Summit) travels to Brookings, S.D., for the second time this season to face off against (3) South Dakota State (10-2-6, 4-1-3 Summit), the 2024 Summit League champions, in the quarterfinal of the Summit League Championship on Saturday, Nov. 1. The match will be streamed on the Summit League Network.
Omaha punched its ticket to the 2025 Summit League tournament with a thrilling 2-1 victory over Kansas City (8-7-3, 3-3-2 Summit) on Sunday Oct. 16 at Caniglia Field in the regular-season finale for Tim Walters' side.
After a scoreless first half, freshman forward Kendall Dobberstein (Omaha, Neb.) ignited the Mavericks' offense in the 47th minute, firing a rocket from the far right side that went into the lower left corner of the net.
The Roos leveled the match eight minutes later when Riley Porter found space and put a shot inside the lower left post.
In the 83rd minute, freshman midfielder Addie LaRock (Omaha, Neb.) delivered the game-winner, and the first goal of her collegiate career, to seal Omaha's postseason berth.
Through 18 fixtures in 2025, 15 different Mavericks have scored.
K. Dobberstein (Omaha, Neb.) and graduate forward Payten Ivins (West Haven, Utah) pace the Mavericks with four goals apiece, while K. Dobberstein also tops the team with six assists.
(6) Omaha will face (3) SDSU for the second time during the 2025 season. The Mavericks dropped their last matchup against the Jackrabbits by a 3-1 tally on Oct. 12 at Fishback Soccer Park.
This game marks the 21st time in series history between the Mavericks and Jackrabbits. SDSU finished its regular-season off on the road against Oral Roberts in a narrow 3-2 victory.
Leading SDSU with six goals this season is freshman midfielder and forward Emma Brezenski, while sophomore midfielder Mia Bosch has a team high of seven assists on the season.
(1) Oral Roberts will host the semifinal match on Thursday, Nov. 6 in Tulsa, Okla.
