Women’s Soccer at Nebraska, before returning to Caniglia Field

OMAHA, Neb. — Omaha women's soccer continues nonconference action this week with a pair of matches, traveling to Lincoln for an in-state matchup against Nebraska on Thursday, Aug. 27, before returning to Caniglia Field to host Lindenwood on Sunday, Aug. 30.

The Mavericks (1-1-1) will face the Huskers at 7:05 p.m. CT Thursday at Barbara Hibner Soccer Stadium. The match will be streamed on B1G+.

Omaha enters the week unbeaten in its last two matches after earning a 1-0 road victory over Northern Iowa on Aug. 20 and battling Green Bay to a scoreless draw on Aug. 23.

Sophomore forward Kendall Dobberstein (Omaha, Neb.) provided the difference against Northern Iowa, finding the back of the net in the 56th minute for the Mavericks' first goal of the 2026 season. Omaha held the Panthers scoreless the rest of the way to secure its first victory and shutout of the season.

The Mavericks followed with another strong defensive performance at Green Bay, holding the Phoenix to just one shot on goal in a scoreless draw. Omaha recorded three shots, including two on goal, while posting its second consecutive shutout.

Omaha's defense has allowed just two shots on goal over its last two matches.

Senior defender Grace Bartlam (Rosemount, Minn.) was named the Summit League Defensive Peak Performer of the Week, the conference announced Aug. 25. Bartlam played all 180 minutes during the second week of competition, helping anchor Omaha's back line to a pair of shutouts.

Thursday will mark the third all-time meeting between Omaha and Nebraska. The Mavericks claimed the inaugural matchup with a 1-0 victory in Lincoln on Sept. 2, 2021. The Huskers evened the series last season with a 2-1 victory over Omaha on Aug. 31, 2025, at Caniglia Field.

Omaha returns to Caniglia Field on Sunday to host Lindenwood at 1 p.m. CT. The match will be available on Midco Sports Plus, and the first 250 fans will receive a "Go Mavs" hat.
