OMAHA, Neb. – Omaha women's soccer hits the road for the first time in the 2026 regular season this week, traveling to Cedar Falls, Iowa, to face Northern Iowa on Thursday, Aug. 20, before heading to Green Bay, Wis, for a matchup with Green Bay on Sunday, Aug. 23.
Thursday's match against the Panthers is set for 4 p.m. CT at the UNI Soccer Field, while Sunday's contest against the Phoenix will kick off at 1 p.m. CT at Festival Foods Field at Aldo Santaga Stadium.
The Mavericks (0-1-0) opened the regular season with a strong defensive performance against Iowa State on Aug. 12 at Caniglia Field, falling 1-0. Omaha held the Cyclones scoreless over the final 67 minutes after Iowa State scored the match's lone goal in the 22nd minute.

Cadence Fagan made three saves while playing all 90 minutes in her Maverick debut. Omaha's defense limited Iowa State to four shots on goal despite the Cyclones recording 12 total shots and nine corner kicks.

Kendall Dobberstein and Fagan also recorded attempts. Omaha held Iowa State to five shots over the final 45 minutes while earning all three of its corner kicks in the second half.
The last time the Mavericks faced off against the Panthers, Omaha defeated Northern Iowa 2-1 at Caniglia Field on Sept. 15, 2024.
Omaha and Green Bay will meet for the second consecutive season. The Mavericks earned a 6-3 victory over the Phoenix at Caniglia Field on Aug. 17, 2025, tying for most goals scored in a single match in Omaha Division 1 history. Six different Maverick players found the back of the net.
Following this week's two matches, Omaha will travel to Lincoln to face Nebraska on Aug. 27 at 7:05 p.m. CT before returning to Caniglia Field to host Lindenwood on Aug. 30 at 1 p.m. CT.
