OMAHA, Neb. – Omaha Women's Soccer (5-5-4, 2-2-1 Summit) rallied from a two-goal deficit to defeat St. Thomas 3-2 on Sunday Oct. 5 at South Field in St. Paul, Minn.
Tim Walters' Mavericks return to action on Sunday, Oct. 12 at Fishback Soccer Park in Brookings, S.D. against South Dakota State with kickoff set for 1 p.m. CT on the Summit League Network.
Against St. Thomas, Omaha went down in the 17 minute when Izzy McEwan put the Tommies on top with a strike to the lower right corner. Just four minutes later, Tatum Trettel extended the lead to 2-0.
The Mavericks had a chance to respond in the 25th minute when sophomore forward
Charley Kort (Lincoln, Neb.) stepped up for a penalty kick, but St. Thomas goalkeeper Olivia Rowe made the stop.

Payten Ivins (West Haven, Utah) converted Omaha's second penalty attempt in the 42nd minute, her fourth goal of the year, to cut the deficit to one.
Following a 40-minute weather delay, senior forward
Kayla Hassler (Lincoln, Neb.) leveled the match in the 44th minute, pressuring Rowe and sliding the ball home for her second goal of the season.

Lauren Schmidt (La Vista, Neb.) completed the comeback in the 85th minute, burying the game-winner into the high center of the net off a brilliant pass from freshman forward

The Mavericks tallied 17 shots, including eight on-goal, while the Golden Eagles recorded 12 shots with four on-target. Omaha also held a 6-2 advantage in corner kicks.
Through 14 fixtures in 2025, 14 different Mavericks have scored.
Omaha will meet South Dakota State for the 21st time in series history Sunday at Fishback Soccer Park. The Mavericks dropped their last matchup against the Jackrabbits by a 4-1 tally on Sept. 29, 2024.
South Dakota State enters at 8-1-4 overall and 2-0-1 in Summit League play. Sophomore midfielder Mia Bosch was named Summit League Offensive Peak Performer of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday, Sept. 30 following a standout performance against St. Thomas.
Against the Tommies, Bosch helped lead the Jackrabbits to a 60 victory over St. Thomas scoring her third goal of the season and tallying an assist.
Omaha returns home to Caniglia Field on Sunday Oct. 19, facing off against Denver. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. CT. in Omaha, Neb., streaming live on the Summit League Network.
