Omaha Softball Set to Close Out Regular Season Against South Dakota State

The 35-11 Omaha Mavericks are set for a big weekend at Connie Claussen Field. The Mavericks will close out the regular season at home against the South Dakota State Jackrabbits. This series will determine the regular season Summit League Champions.

    - The Mavericks prepare to host SDSU with a 35-11 overall record, having gone 12-3 in conference play and 10-1 at home.

    - Meyer's 16 straight victories is the longest streak among all D1 pitchers and her 21 on the season is good enough to rank her seventh in the nation.  
    - Maggie O'Brien leads the league with 59 hits on the season. 
    - Sydney Ross paces the Summit League with a .469 on-base percentage. 
    - The Maverick's lockdown defense of .978 percent is the eighth-best in the country. 
    - The last time the Mavericks saw the Jackrabbits was last season in the Summit League Championship game where Omaha won 1-0 to win the tournament that gave them their NCAA berth.

SDSU comes to Omaha with a 30-18 overall record, having gone 12-11 on the road and are undefeated 13-0 in conference play. The Jackrabbits are on the nation's longest active win streak at 17 games. With their recent success, they have jumped up to 57 in the RPI rankings. 

PLAYERS TO WATCH
•  Lindsey Culver paces SDSU with a .399 batting average after recording 55 hits, 13 doubles, two triples, nine home runs, and 43 RBIs. 

• On the mound, Tori Kniesche is has put in 120 innings of work for a 15-5 record and 1.75 ERA. She retired 174 batters while only allowing 63 hits and 33 runs.
