ST. CLOUD, Minn. - Omaha (5-7-0, 3-3-0 NCHC) heads back on the road to face NCHC foe St. Cloud State (9-4-0, 3-1-0 NCHC) in their 51st and 52nd matchups. Omaha is 3-1-1 in its last five trips to St. Cloud, Minn. Last season, the Mavericks went 1-0-1 on the Huskies' home ice.

The Mavericks enter play in December with hopes of carrying momentum from their final series of November. Omaha earned its first NCHC sweep of the 2024-25 campaign against Miami on the Kemp Ice at Baxter Arena. Omaha outscored its opponent 11-1 between Friday, Nov. 22 (W, 3-0) and Saturday, Nov. 23 (W, 8-1).

Graduate forward Sam Stange led the Mavericks in nearly every offensive category during November with four goals, four assists and eight points overall through six games. Stange scored two game-winning goals and also led the NCHC and was third in the conference at plus-8 during the month.

Stange leads the Mavericks in goals (6) and points (10), while junior defenseman Jacob Guevin leads the team with seven assists. Guevin was also named KJ Branding's NCHC Defenseman of the Week for the second time this season after tallying three assists and helping Omaha's penalty kill go seven-for-seven against Miami just before the bye week.

Junior goaltender Simon Latkoczy enters the series on a three-game win streak when starting between the pipes for the Mavericks. In that span going back to Nov. 15's 4-2 win at Arizona State, Latkoczy has only allowed three goals. Between Nov. 15 and Nov. 30, Latkoczy led NCHC goaltenders (min. 2 GP) in wins (3), goals against (3), goals against average (1.07), save percentage (.965) and shutouts (1).

St. Cloud State is led in goals by Austin Burnevik (7) and Barrett Hall in assists (10), and the two each have 12 points individually, which ties them for the team lead.
Huskies goaltender Isak Posch has been one of the most consistent in the NCHC this season, ranking among the top in many categories. Posch is first in saves (334), third in saves per game (25.69), and fourth in goals against average (1.68).

Posch and Latkoczy have nearly mirrored each other in certain statistical categories. Both have only allowed 22 goals this season and have a .938 save percentage, ranking third in the conference.

The Huskies' power play percentage is .139, the lowest in the NCHC. However, their penalty kill is .895, and Omaha's is .886, ranking second and third in the NCHC.

Omaha and St. Cloud State have each scored 29 goals this season. The Huskies have allowed 24 goals, while the Mavericks have given up 26 goals to opponents.

This marks the Mavericks' last road trip and NCHC series in 2024. Omaha will host independent Lindenwood in the pair's first series on Friday, Dec. 13 and Saturday, Dec. 14. Both games will begin at 7:07 p.m. on the Kemp Ice at Baxter Arena.
