Apr 30, 2023

The Omaha Mavericks have added defenseman transfer and Las Vegas Golden Knights draft pick Noah Ellis to their roster before the 2023-24 season.

Ellis joins the Mavericks after spending his rookie season with the UMass Minutemen. He appeared in 24 games registering one goal and one assist. His first career goal came against No. 14 Providence on November 4, 2022. He tallied his assist against the No. 13 UConn Huskies on January 20. Ellis, a native of Urbandale, Iowa, had 19 shots on goal and was a +6 with 15 blocks.

"I'm extremely excited to join the Omaha Hockey family," Ellis said. "I played part of my youth hockey in Omaha and it's a great city. I have had a great relationship with the coaches for years. I'm thrilled to come back and get going!"

Before the Minutemen, Ellis appeared in 164 games in the USHL. He totaled 68 points on 21 goals and 47 assists. He saw action in nine games with the Des Moines Buccaneers in 2018-19 before spending two full seasons with the organization in 2019-20 and 2020-21. He spent the 2021-22 campaign with the Muskegon Lumberjacks where he registered 40 points on 11 goals and 29 assists. He helped lead the Lumberjacks to a USHL Eastern Conference Finals appearance in his final junior hockey season.
