Omaha Mavericks netminder Simon Latkoczy was named the Week 9 NCHC Goalie of the Week.

Latkoczy went 1-1 on the weekend helping the Mavericks earn a series split with the Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs. The Trencin, Slovakia native registered his first shutout of the season (third of his career) in Saturday's 1-0 overtime victory. He stopped all 29 shots he faced including 10 in the 3rd period. Latkoczy aided the Mavericks in holding UMD's top ranked power play scoreless on the weekend. In total, he stopped 10 shots while UMD was up a skater.

The Omaha Sophomore is 6-3-1 on the campaign and is currently sporting a .912 save percentage and a 2.45 goals against average. Through his Maverick career, Latkoczy holds a .917 save percentage and 2.32 GAA.

This is Latkoczy's third weekly award of his career and first of the season. Last year, he won Week 17 Goalie of the Week and Week 19 Rookie of the Week. This is the fourth weekly award for the Mavericks this season.

Latkoczy and the Mavericks welcome the St. Cloud State Huskies to Baxter Arena this weekend to close out the first half of the season.
