LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The Omaha men's golf team tied for 11th place at the Little Rock First Tee Classic on Tuesday.
The Mavericks shot a final-round team score of 309 to finish the event with a score of 907. Host Little Rock took home the tournament title with a score of 856 over 54 holes at the Chenal Country Club. Stephen F. Austin was second at 872, and UT Arlington finished third at 879.
Freshman David Huxham tied for the team low in the third round with a three-over score of 75 to finish at 221, a career best. He led the Mavericks in scoring and finished in a tie for 18th.
Ben Maskus was second for the Mavericks and tied for 24th. He also shot 75 in round three and finished one stroke behind Huxham at 222.
Kevin Gordon shot 228 for the tournament, including a final round score of 77 that helped put him in a tie for 48th.
Max Hellstrom was fourth on the team and 75th overall with a score of 241 that featured a final-round tally of 86. Sam Musch rounded out the scoring with a total of 244. He shot 81 on Tuesday.
The Mavericks are back in Arkansas for the ASU Red Wolves Intercollegiate hosted by Arkansas State on Monday and Tuesday, April 3-4.
