NEWTON, Kan. - Omaha Men's Golf finished seventh of 17 teams Tuesday at the Grier Jones Shocker Invitational, hosted by Wichita State, at Sand Creek Station.
The Mavericks were led by senior
Ethan Smith (Doniphan, Neb.) who has been on fire as of late with a second-consecutive top-10 finish. Smith ended his 54-hole tournament in T5, carding rounds of 69-72-70 for a three-round total of 211. Senior
Spencer Clatt (Gilbert, Iowa) finished T22 with rounds of 74, 73 and 71.
After last week's 6-under T10 finish at the SIUE Dolenc Invitational, Smith ends his fall with a 5-under tournament. With rounds of 3-under, even and 2-under, Smith carded 14 birdies including eight alone in Tuesday's final round.
Kansas City's Mason Haley took home the individual medalist honors at 13-under, recovering from a 1-over first round to shoot 7-under in the second and final rounds.
The Roos and fellow Summit League member St. Thomas finished T1 at 2-under.
