COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa and LINCOLN, Neb. - Omaha Men's Golf participated in two events this week with the lineup at the Git-R-Done Invitational in Lincoln and individuals taking part in the Bent Tree Intercollegiate in Council Bluffs. Senior
Luke Strako (Omaha, Neb.) topped the field of 59 golfers to secure his first collegiate victory with a par putt on No. 18 to come in at 1-under after 54 holes.
All three Mavericks that participated in the Bent Tree event finished in the top 10 with sophomore
Sam Vocelka (Omaha, Neb.) at 1-over to finish third, followed by sophomore newcomer
Connor Steichen (Omaha, Neb.) in T9 at 6-over. Vocelka led all golfers with 15 birdies; Strako finished with 11.
In Lincoln, Omaha finished 11th of 12 teams, led by senior
Spencer Clatt's (Gilbert, Iowa) 213 (E) with rounds of 69, 75 and 69.
Freshman
Will Barth (Omaha, Neb.) and senior
Nolan Johnson (Gretna, Neb.) paced the Mavericks in Tuesday's final round with three birdies each.
Junior
Sam Pampling (Double Oak, Texas), Johnson and Strako each recorded an eagle this week.
