LEMONT, Ill. – The Omaha men's golf team moved up four spots in the final round to finish ninth at the John Dallio Memorial at DePaul on Tuesday.
The Mavericks posted a tournament-best score of 307 in the third round to finish at 937 for the tournament. DePaul won the event with a score of 893, three strokes ahead of runner-up Bradley. North Dakota State was third at 905.
Senior
Ben Maskus was UNO's top scorer. He closed with a two-over-par 74 on Tuesday to finish seven over for the tournament with a score of 223. He was fifth in the field of 75 golfers.
Senior
Mitch Ryan was second for the Mavericks and 36th overall with a score of 235 that included a final round of 79.
Kevin Gordon was third on the team and tied for 46th overall at 238. He shook off a rough first round and concluded with a score of 74, his best round of the tournament.
Freshman
Kelly Brown shot a score of 243 that included 80 in the final round to finish fourth for the Mavericks and 61st overall.
Sam Musch completed the scoring with a final round of 85 that gave him a total of 250. He was 70th overall.
The Mavericks are back in action on Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 26-27, at the Derek Dolenc Invitational at SIUE.
