OMAHA, Neb. – Three Omaha track and field athletes earned All-Summit League honors by finishing in the top three in their respective events at the Summit League Indoor Championship.
Sophomore Stephanie Ahrens earned All-Summit League honors in the high jump and the 60 meter hurdles. Ahrens earned her second career All-Summit honors in the high jump by placing second with a mark of 5-05 ¾. She finished third in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.95 seconds.
Junior Taryn Derickson edged Ahrens in the high jump based on a tie-breaker that figures in misses at the previous height. Her jump of 5-05 ¾ gave her first place and her second career All-Summit honors.
Freshman Lauren Houston raced to a second-place finish in the 800 meters. Her time of 2:13.29 earned her All-Summit honors.
A total of 97 athletes earned All-Summit League honors.
The Mavericks return to action for the start of their outdoor season in Tulsa, Okla. at the Tulsa Duals on March 18.
