LINCOLN, Neb. - Omaha Track and Field athletes Avyn Urbanski and Emma Klein won their individual events and climbed up the all-time top-10 lists at the Nebraska Tune-Up on a snowy Friday afternoon.
Urbanski, a junior from Grand Island, Neb., opened the day with a win in the 60-meter dash. Her time of 7.60 seconds was a personal best and made her fifth all-time in program history.
Klein, a senior from Gower, Mo., won the triple jump with a personal record of 12.13 meters. Klein's attempt also made her fifth all-time in program history.
Four more Mavericks set personal records in their events. Sophomore Jocelynn Skoda (West Point, Neb.) finished second in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.04. Sophomore Meredith Richter (Medford, Wis.) finished sixth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 56.27. Junior Lily Schwartz (Lincoln, Neb.) finished fifth in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:15.32 and freshman Charlotte Gregor (South Omaha, Neb.) finished 17th in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 11:33.94.
Omaha will make the trip to Grand Forks, N.D. for the Summit League Indoor Championships on Friday, Feb. 17 and Saturday, Feb. 28.
